Royce Humm
Head Coach

Coach Humm graduated from Breckenridge where he participated in Track and Field and Cross Country. His senior year, he served as the team captian and ran in the State Finals in Cross Country. He graduated from Baker College of Owosso with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology Management and Internet Security. He served as the State President of the Michigan FFA and returned to coach several FFA teams to State Chamionships and on to the National level. He is currently employed at the Gratiot-Isabella Regional Education Service District as the Manager of Network Services. Coach Humm was an assistant coach last year for the Huskies before taking the Head Coaching Position.

Kaela Humm
Assistant Coach

Coach Kaela graduated from Breckenridge High School in 2004 where she participated in Track and Field and was a captain. She is currently attending Central Michigan University pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Education with a Major in Earth Science and a Minor in Physical Education. She is completing her student teaching at St. Louis Middle School before graduating in May. Coach Kaela has coached many FFA teams at the state and national level. This is her first year with the Huskies and she is looking forward to working with all the athletes.


 

Kris James
Assistant Coach

Coach James graduated from Breckenridge in 2001, participating in Cross Country and Track, serving as captain in both. He earned all state honors as a member of the 3200 Meter Relay Team. He graduated from Hope College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Art Degree in K-12 Physical Education and a Minor in Psychology. He ran Varsity Track and Field while attending Hope College. He finished 8th in the MIAA conference as a Freshman in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase and 8th as a Sophomore in the 800 Meter Run. Coach James recently completed his first marathon in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, finishing in the top 5% of the race. Over the course of his running career he has competed in races as short as 40 yards and as long as 26.2 miles. He has been actively involved with running in one form or another for the past 15 years. This is Coach James first year on the Breckenridge Varsity Boys Track Coaching Staff.


 

Dustin Shelley
Assistant Coach

Coach Shelley graduated from Breckenridge in 2004 where he participated in Track and Field. His senior year, he served as a Team Captain in Track and Field. Both his junior and senior years of Track he participated in the Meet of Champions at Central Michigan University. His junior year he took fifth in the Shotput and his senior year he took third in the Shotput and fifth in the discus. He also finished his senior year with a second place finish in the Shotput at the League Meet. He is currently attending Delta College where he will finish his Associate’s Degree in Chemical Process Technology.
